Frequently asked questions

Do you accept…
We accept most types of metal! Please see Materials We Accept for a detailed list.

Will you accept my old television/microwave/other electronics?
We do not accept any form of e-waste. We recommend taking it to Next Step Recycling or Lane County Waste.

How do I recycle my car?
Please bring your title and any other documents showing you are the lawful owner (e.g. bill of sale, if applicable) and a valid ID. You do not need to remove tires or drain any fluids. We have a dedicated team that will take care of this for you!

Can I bring in my car if I do not have the title?
Probably! Please call to speak with a member of our scale team for more information on the proper documentation.

Can you pick it up for me?
If you have a large quantity of material, we may be able to arrange drop box service. We do not haul smaller quantities but can connect you with someone who can pick it up for you. Please give us a call.

Do I need to separate my material?
It is not required. However, a sorted load allows us to pay you the appropriate price for each commodity rather than a mixed load price. If you have a lot of material, it’s probably beneficial for you to sort it.

Do you recycle glass, cardboard, or plastic?
We accept metal only. Lane County Waste accepts these items.

How much will you pay me for my scrap?
It depends on the type of metal you have. We pay by the pound for non-ferrous metals and by the ton for ferrous metals. Please call for pricing!

Will I get cash for my scrap?
We pay cash for ferrous metals (appliances, cars, steel). Non-ferrous metals (copper, brass, aluminum, etc.) are paid by check. In accordance with state law, we will mail a check after 3 business days for any non-ferrous items. Businesses registered in the state of Oregon as an LLC or corporation can receive cash for any type of metal, with the exception of catalytic converters.

Can I recycle my catalytic converter?
Sure! Please bring your title or active registration so we can take a copy. You will also need valid ID. Please note, payment will be made via check and held for three business days before being mailed.

Do you have a part for my car?
We are not set up for resale. We recommend checking with local auto wreckers.

Can I get a drop-box?
Please call to speak with one of our buyers so we can determine the best option for your needs.

Why haven’t I received my check in the mail yet?
We are required by law to hold your check for three business days before mailing. Once mailed, it usually takes 3 to 5 business days to reach you. If your visit was more than 2 weeks ago, please give us a call and we will see what we can do!

What is the difference between ferrous and non-ferrous metals?
Ferrous metals contain iron, and non-ferrous metals do not. Examples of ferrous metals include steel, cast iron, and wrought iron. Non-ferrous metals include aluminum, copper, brass, and lead. If you’re not sure what you have, try sticking a magnet to it. Ferrous metals will stick!
